Tittmoning stepped in as organizer because another city had withdrawn.

Tittmoning - Tittmoning has decided not to host the State Garden Show in 2026.
This decision was made unanimously by the city council on Tuesday evening, as Mayor Andreas Bratzdrum explained on Wednesday (January 31).
According to Martin Richter-Liebald, Managing Director of Bayerische Landesgartenschau GmbH, it is still uncertain whether the State Garden Show will take place in 2026.
A final decision is still pending.
However, the time to look for a new venue and develop and implement a concept is becoming increasingly scarce.

According to Bratzdrum, the reason for Tittmoning's withdrawal was a citizens' initiative sought by a citizens' initiative, which should lead to a referendum on the state horticultural show.
This would take a lot of time.
Contracts were advertised at the end of December and applications have already been received.
These orders must now be awarded.
The mayor told the German Press Agency that he was “totally disappointed”.
The city is missing an “incredible opportunity”.
In the next two years, numerous projects could have been realized with the help of funding.

Tittmoning had originally applied for a state horticultural show in 2030 or 2031 and stepped in as the venue for 2026 at short notice.
After revising the application concept and providing further information to citizens, the city council voted by a majority in December 2023 for the application - and Tittmoning was awarded the contract.

The 2023 State Garden Show took place in Freyung in the Bavarian Forest, in 2024 it will be held in Kirchheim near Munich and in 2025 in Furth im Wald (Cham district).
The first state horticultural show in Bavaria was held in Neu-Ulm in 1980, and the anniversary edition in 2030 is planned for Nuremberg.
