The American CIA chief is speaking out against Vladimir Putin and his Russian attack on Ukraine in an unprecedented manner.
Velvet swipe against China.
Langley - In this phase of the Ukraine war, the USA is apparently trying to intensively publicize its opinions and assessments.
Doubts about the delivered German Leopard 2 main battle tanks were recently raised in the foreign policy journal
Foreign Affairs
, which has close contacts with top American politicians.
A guest article from Langley, Virginia, where the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is based, made clear how close the trade magazine's contacts are from New York to Washington.
USA in the Ukraine war: CIA chief deals against Moscow ruler Vladimir Putin
In an analysis, the director of the American foreign secret service has lashed out against the regime of Kremlin autocrat Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
Putin's "tragic and brutal fixation" on Ukraine has "already shamed Russia and exposed its weaknesses," wrote William Joseph Burns, "from its one-dimensional economy to its excessive military strength to its corrupt political system."

CIA chief Burns: Vladimir Putin embodies “resentment, ambition and insecurity”
As US President Joe Biden affirmed, the United States is “faced today with one of those rare moments that is as momentous as the beginning of the Cold War or the period after September 11th,” said the former Vice Foreign Minister: “China's rise and “Russia’s revanchism presents formidable geopolitical challenges in a world of intense strategic competition.”
Burns wrote in Foreign Affairs
that he has spent much of the last two decades trying to understand “the explosive combination of resentment, ambition and insecurity that Russian President Vladimir Putin embodies: “
I have learned that it is always a mistake , underestimating his fixation on controlling Ukraine and its decisions.
He believes that without this control, Russia cannot be a great power, nor can he be a great Russian leader.”

While Ukraine fears the Russian offensive: a swipe from the USA against Putin
CIA chief Burns's clear statements come at a time when Ukrainian commanders are warning of a possible major Russian offensive on the city of Kharkiv with a population of over a million inhabitants.
And in the context of the announced major NATO maneuver, in which the German Bundeswehr will send its 10th Panzer Division to the Baltics.
It's a heated geopolitical situation.
Burns praised the suffering people of Ukraine in this situation.
“I saw their bravery firsthand on frequent wartime trips to Ukraine, punctuated by Russian airstrikes and vivid images of Ukrainians' tenacity and ingenuity on the battlefield,” the 67-year-old intelligence officer explained in his analysis: “Putin's war was for Russia is already a failure on many levels.
His original goal of conquering Kiev and subjugating Ukraine turned out to be stupid and illusory.”

“China’s economic vassal”: US CIA chief chooses harsh words against Russia
Instead, his military “suffered immense damage.
At least 315,000 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded, two-thirds of Russia's prewar tank inventory was destroyed, and Putin's vaunted, decades-long military modernization program was undermined," the CIA director said.
And that's not all: "The country is sealing its fate as an economic vassal of China," wrote Burns, who held the second-highest position in the State Department between July 2011 and November 2014.
And thus inevitably dealt with international relations between Moscow and Beijing.
China is considered a supporter of Russia.

Congress blocks US aid to Ukraine: Joe Biden's confidant is now speaking
In reality, Burns believes with regard to Putin, “his war in Ukraine is quietly undermining his power at home.”
For the Ukrainian armed forces it is now a matter of showing the Russian army and population as well as the apparatus in Moscow the “high costs” of the attack, for example through “steady profits in the Black Sea”.
The intelligence chief, who is considered a close confidant of Biden (Democrats), concluded his analysis with a reference to the American Congress in Washington.
In the United States Parliament, the opposition Republicans have been blocking military aid worth a rumored $61 billion for weeks.
Burns: “The key to success lies in maintaining Western aid to Ukraine.”
