Police had to respond to an accident involving a school bus on Wednesday.

A collision between a car and a school bus occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Sachsenkam.
The person who caused the accident was drunk.
Sachsenkam - According to the police, the accident occurred on Wednesday around 11:30 a.m.
At the time, a 53-year-old from Sachsenkam was driving his Opel on Tölzer Straße in the direction of Bundesstraße 13.
On a curve, he drove too far into the oncoming lane and drove into the left front of an oncoming school bus.

The bus driver saw the danger coming.
The man initiated emergency braking and steered the bus as far to the right as possible to prevent anything worse from happening.
The bus hit the garden fence of an adjacent property.
A blessing in disguise: the 15 elementary school students and the driver of the bus remained uninjured.
The person who caused the accident also escaped with horror.

However, the material damage caused is considerable: the damage to the bus amounts to around 20,000 euros.
The Opel suffered total economic damage, which the police estimated at around 5,000 euros.
The car was no longer drivable and had to be towed away.
