Bamberg/Coburg – A firefighter from the Coburg district is suspected of coercing other road users on Autobahn 73 near Bamberg with illegal blue lights in his private vehicle.
According to police information on Thursday, the 22-year-old is said to have entered the motorway near Hirschaid on Wednesday, January 31st and immediately changed to the left lane.

22-year-old was apparently called to an operation
A witness reported that the young man drove massively into the vehicles in front of him.
In addition, he is said to have flashed his lights several times and used a blue light in the interior of his BMW.
“By driving aggressively at high speed, the BMW driver forced a large number of vehicles to leave the fast lane in order to move faster himself,” the police statement said.
According to previous investigations, the 22-year-old was called to an operation as a firefighter.
However, he was neither authorized nor trained to use a private blue light.
He is now being investigated for usurpation of office and coercion in traffic.
