The most majestic: The Archives
The place.
Nestled in the city center of Poitiers, this sumptuous address is none other than the former Jesuit chapel, built in 1852 by the architect Tournesac then closed to worship in 1870, before housing the departmental archives of Vienne.
At the end of a two-year project, the neo-Gothic building unveiled in 2012 this restaurant made up of arches, columns and vaulted stone balconies, adjoining a 4-star hotel.

The plate.
The menu here brilliantly combines tradition and modernity.
The four formulas are available in food and wine pairings and give pride of place to snacked salmon, lamb gasconnade with herring, half-breast, truffled scrambled eggs, half-cooked scallops, skate with brown butter... All topped off with homemade desserts and artisanal ice creams and sorbets.
