The arrival of
Lewis Hamilton
at
Ferrari
that shook the world of motorsports this Thursday will only occur in 2025. But the effect of his transfer from
Mercedes
is already having an effect on the company's finances.
The thing is that without having gotten on the
Prancing Horse
, the British driver is already making his new bosses a lot of money.
The day of news of Hamilton's landing also came with a nod from the markets: the shares were listed at
353 euros
after a rise of
9.2 percent.
The peculiarity of this number is that if it is compared with the closing of the
stock from a year ago,
each paper rose by 100 euros.
On the other hand, net income also increased, reaching
5,970 million euros
,
17.2% more than the previous year
.
In this way, the automaker surpassed the threshold of one billion euros in value for the first time after registering a net profit of 1,250 million euros, 34% more than in 2022.
The
EBITDA margin,
an indicator that allows us to understand the financial health of listed companies, also reached a record number, as it
amounted to 38.2%
.
These are values never seen before by Ferrari.
The highest it had been was 35.9% in 2021.
According to Ferrari's CEO,
Benedetto Vigna ,
2023 was very successful
for them
because they reinforced the brand with milestones that were reflected in their finances.
Vigna also commented that
a bonus will be paid to his employees
.
This bonus will seek
to enhance competitiveness
and will be up to 13,500 euros, but could rise to 17 thousand of the community currency.
By 2024, the Italian team expects revenue to exceed
€6.4 billion
, while adjusted gross operating margin should exceed
€2.45 billion
.

The sports car manufacturer seeks to achieve
carbon neutrality by 2030
.
It would be the company that would achieve this milestone the fastest.
In 2023, the Maranello company made significant progress on the path to
carbon neutrality
and reduced emissions by 7% (16% compared to 2021).
It also installed
solar panels
at its factory that provide a maximum power of 2.4 megawatts more than last year.
In June, Ferrari will also inaugurate its
e-building
, a building that will be responsible for
manufacturing the components for its electric and hybrid cars
.
This will enrich the offer of its sports products and the launch of three new models.
A bittersweet 2023 in sports
Regarding motorsports 2023, the
Prancing Horse
had its ups and downs.
After 50 years, they won again at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
While in Formula 1
they were third with 406 points
, three points below Mercedes.
Their drivers could not achieve good results either:
Charles Leclerc finished fifth and Carlos Sainz, who will leave the team to make room for Hamilton, finished sixth
.
We will have to wait
until 2025
to see if the hiring of Hamilton by the
Scuderia
benefits Ferrari shareholders even more and if it can return the winning aura to those of
Maranello
.
Meanwhile, the
tifosi
are waiting with anticipation for the start of the 2024 F1 season
.
