An electric wheelchair that gives him back the ability to move independently and "to go where I want without anyone having to push me and accompany me".

It is the dream of Luca Gualandi, 34 years old, a boy from Casalfiumanese in the Imola area, who has been quadriplegic since he was 17, due to a motorbike accident.

A friend of his, Matteo Baldissarri, has decided to launch a fundraiser on Gofundme to fulfill Luca's wish: the campaign has been active since yesterday evening and has the aim of reaching 12 thousand euros for the purchase of the new wheelchair.

Luca explains that he can't afford it: "I work part time as a mechanical designer and my mother doesn't work because she takes care of me full time. The expenses are very high and I don't have the necessary money, so I'm here asking for help, if you want" .

On the day of the tragedy, Luca was training on the cross track in his town, a historic track on which the motocross world champion Andrea Bartolini also grew up.

At the time Luca was racing in the European supermotard championship: "Towards the evening during a landing he flew away - recalls the friend who was on the track with other riders - the helicopter arrived and from that day his life changed, but he he still has an incredible passion for motorbikes, he is enthusiastic in everything he does."

The new wheelchair would be a turning point: "During the last year - explains Luca - I found competent people who made me discover the electric wheelchair, which can be controlled with the chin, through head movements, the only part of my body over which I have full control and the few tests I have done have given me back an ability that I lost at the age of 17. Since my accident, among the many things I have no longer been able to do there is also walking to go for a walk alone, simply, to enjoy a bit of sun or clear my head."

And now Matteo and his other friends, who have always remained close to him over the years, are asking "for help from everyone because our only aim is to see his smile grow".
