A group of kids, filmed by a surveillance camera, allegedly shouted and wrote homophobic phrases at the entrance to the Gay Center in via Zabaglia, in the Testaccio district of Rome.
The young people also allegedly beat up the entrance.
The Capitol PD reports this.
"Full solidarity with the Gay Center in via Zabaglia, in Testaccio - write the group leader Valeria Baglio and the councilor Yuri Trombetti - These are shameful images, unacceptable behavior which reveals how the dangers of discrimination are more current and widespread than one might think. We hope that the authors of these gestures are identified. Today our solidarity goes to the activists of the Gay Center and to the entire LGBTQ+ community."
"The attack suffered by the Gay Center is unacceptable. A bunch of kids hit the rainbow wall of the headquarters in Via Nicola Zabaglia, shouted insults and wrote discriminatory phrases. Scenes of incredible cultural backwardness: the same backwardness to which some they wink to garner votes, thus creating this climate of violence."
Thus, in a note, the Capitoline M5s councilor Paolo Ferrara.
"Maximum solidarity with the people affected by this intimidation - he adds - If the Capitol is really attentive to the issues of inclusion, I hope it will put in place adequate support policies for them. The Government should do the same, finally taking its responsibilities ".
