We are there in the forest, keeping our distance from residential buildings. This is only theoretically possible, said wind power expert Peter Beermann. This means the yield increases significantly.

It was rumored for a long time, now it's official: the Fürstenfeldbruck municipal utility wants to build five wind turbines in the city.

Theoretically, they could go into operation in 2027.

Fürstenfeldbruck – Three areas come into question.

These are located north and southwest of Puch and south of Aich.

This became clear in the city council, where the municipal utilities presented the plans.

The distance to the city of Fürstenfeldbruck would be 1500 meters and to Aich and Puch 900 meters.

A facility north of the B 2

Here, measurements were taken from the edge of the areas, so that a few more meters should be added, as Peter Beermann, managing director of Energiesysteme GmbH and wind power expert in the city council, explained.

In the two northern areas - these are fields - a maximum of three systems could be built, said Beermann, who was already working with the municipal utilities on the existing systems.

A wind turbine would therefore be located on the area northwest of Puch, above the B 2.

Two further systems can be built a little further south and therefore west of Puch and north of Aich.

Two variants for third area

For the third area, which according to Beermann consists of a small part of fields and is mostly in the forest, there are two options.

Variant 1: The municipal utilities are building a wind turbine in the middle of the area.

“The location is privileged.

We are there in the forest, keeping our distance from residential buildings.

This would mean we would be able to receive approval immediately,” said Beermann.

Advantages of land use planning

The second option would be to plan two systems.

However, a building control procedure would be necessary for this, as the distance to residential development would be less than 1000 meters.

The municipal utilities prefer the second option, as Matthias Mützer, Head of Energy Services, explained.

“We want to do it with land-use planning in order to involve citizens.” The planning process would be discussed publicly in committees and in the city council.

In addition to the land use planning, the planning must go through an approval process.

“We have to prove that, among other things, we comply with the criteria for sound and shadow and that species protection has been taken into account,” explained Rauber.

Costs: Around 500,000 euros per system.

This is how it continues

Whether all five wind turbines are actually approved depends on many factors.

“If we can implement three wind turbines according to construction methods, we would be good.

The goal is, of course, five systems,” said Rauber to the Tagblatt.

The wind turbines are to be financed with the municipal utilities, the city and through crowd financing in which citizens can participate.

The wind turbines will be significantly higher (80 meters) than the existing ones at Mammendorf and Malching.

From the ground to the top rotor tip it would be 260 meters.

This means the yield increases significantly.

An operating company is to be founded for the wind farms.

Competitive situation

Because there is still a need for clarification, the plans have now only been presented to the city council.

No decision was made.

Andreas Lohde (CSU) warned: The municipal utilities' know-how is therefore public.

Other competitors could take part.

“We are in a hot phase.” Mayor Christian Götz countered: It is important to create transparency and acceptance.

Before a decision can be made, ambiguities must be resolved.

Also briefly on the topic: The wind turbine that the “Die Sonnensegler” cooperative wants to build near Aich.

The location is in the forest, far enough away from residential development and is therefore considered privileged.

Irene Weinberg (BBV) therefore wanted to know whether the solar sailors could simply set up this system tomorrow.

This is only theoretically possible, said wind power expert Peter Beermann.

This wind turbine also has to go through the approval process.

Stadtwerke boss Jan Hoppenstedt emphasized that they were in discussions with the solar sailors and certainly didn't want to have any strenuous competition.
