A teenager was sentenced to five years in prison, one of which was suspended, for the murder of his father with a gunshot to the head in 2021 in Nancy, in a context of domestic violence, the prosecution said on Friday.
The young boy, aged 13 at the time of the events, was placed under arrest warrant at the end of the trial which ended behind closed doors on Thursday in the children's court, the public prosecutor told AFP. by Nancy, François Capin-Dulhoste.
In October 2021, the teenager killed his father, a 33-year-old man from Kosovo, at the home of this family of five children.
According to the statements of the mother, the perpetrator of the shooting and another child,
“the victim would have drunk a lot of alcohol and would have been particularly aggressive towards his wife”
and would have hit her, indicated at the time the parquet floor.

The doctor who examined her, however, found no trace of physical violence.
According to these testimonies, the teenager had seized his father's collector's weapon which was
"in the parental bedroom"
.
The teenager then entered the kitchen where his father was sitting and shot him in the temple
“either at close range or at close range (very short distance)”

The young alleged perpetrator of the shooting, the eldest of the siblings, fled with one of his brothers, before going to the police the next day.
