February starts in winter in Bavaria, and there is expected to be plenty of snow before the weekend.
There will be a bigger change at the weekend.
Munich – Before you know it, the first month of the new year is already over.
The days are already getting noticeably longer and many people in Bavaria are already looking longingly towards spring.
It's not quite that far yet, but the first weekend in February brings higher temperatures.
But before that there will be a lot of snow again.
With snow in February: The weather in Bavaria
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), a cold front will cross the Free State on Thursday, February 1st.
This will bring frost, fog and slippery conditions due to freezing wet conditions until Friday, February 2nd - drivers should be careful.
It will also be stormy in the mountainous areas; in Franconia, gusts of up to 50 km/h can be expected in open areas.
In the coming days, winter in Bavaria is expected to pick up again before saying goodbye.

According to the DWD forecast, there will also be snow.
Not that little: “Today 1-5 centimeters of fresh snow above 1000 meters in the low mountain ranges, 1-7 centimeters of fresh snow above 1000-1300 meters in the Alps until Friday night, and even 15 centimeters of fresh snow in higher reservoirs,” they write Meteorologists on Thursday morning.

Snowy weather before the weekend – then the change will come
The winter interlude seems to have ended just in time for the weekend.
The forecast maps from the German Weather Service show that temperatures will climb back into the double-digit range on Saturday, February 3rd.
Between ten (Nuremberg / Northern Bavaria) and eleven degrees (Munich / Southern Bavaria), to be precise.

There is plenty of fresh snow in Bavaria at the start of February.
But at the weekend the temperatures will rise again to spring-like regions.

On Sunday, February 4th, the daily highs will also reach double digits - but it is expected to be quite stormy throughout Bavaria.
It is also expected to rain widely again towards Sunday evening.
After all: According to the DWD, apart from the Upper Palatinate (Saturday lunchtime), it will remain largely dry on the rest of the weekend.
