The police are deployed on a large-scale operation - including with helicopters and armored vehicles.

What happened?

Karlsruhe - The police ended a dangerous operation at a school in Karlsruhe, initially took an 18-year-old into custody and later took her to a psychiatric clinic.

The alleged weapon that had previously been seen on her turned out to be a toy gun, the police reported on Thursday.

The young woman used to be a student at the school herself.

In the morning she was seen in front of the building with the alleged weapon and the police were then alerted.

When the officers arrived, she was already gone, but was later spotted at the main train station and arrested.

She was questioned and is now being taken to the clinic, a police spokeswoman said.

As part of the operation, the students were taken outside and the building was searched.

Nobody got hurt.
