Christian Polanc will not be on “Let's Dance” this year – for the first time in 15 years.

That's what RTL and the dancer himself say about it.

Cologne - Christian Polanc (45) has been a part of “Let's Dance” since the second season in 2007 and is just as integral to the program as juror Joachim Llambi (59), moderator Daniel Hartwich (45) or the voiceover of Patrick Linke (53).

Nevertheless, he will not be there in the upcoming 17th season, which begins on February 23rd - for the first time in 15 years.

This is how RTL justifies this decision.

“Let's Dance” season 17: That's why Christian Polanc isn't there, according to RTL

This year's professional dancers were announced on Instagram on the official “Let's Dance” account.

These include the well-known faces Alexandru Ionel (29), Ekaterina Leonova (36), Kathrin Menzinger (35), Malika Dzumaev (32), Mariia Maksina (27), Marta Arndt (34), Massimo Sinató (43), Patricia Ionel ( 28), Paul Lorenz (35), Vadim Garbuzov (36), Valentin Lusin (36) and Zsolt Sándor Cseke (36).

New this year are professional dancer Anastasia Stan from Moldova and Russian professional dancer Mikael Tatarkin.

Christian Polanc is missing, as are the dancers Isabel Edvardsson (41), Renata Lusin (36) and Christina Hänni (33), formerly Luft, all three of whom are pregnant.

“Let’s Dance” fans are wondering why veteran Christian, of all people, is sitting out.

According to RTL, it is because there are now so many professionals in the squad who should take turns.

When asked by IPPEN.MEDIA, the broadcaster said: “Our 'Let's Dance' family is now so big that we can't take all the professionals with us every year.

Of course, not participating this year does not mean the final end.

Which professionals dance each season also depends on which celebrities are there.

It has to be right overall.”

Christian Polanc is missing from “Let's Dance”: That's what the dancer himself says about it

On Wednesday, January 31st, Christian Polanc had already joked in his Instagram story: "I'm not taking part in "Let's Dance" this year and no, I'm not pregnant." Instead, he explains his absence from the show with scheduling reasons problems.

Especially in recent years, the dance school and many of the dancer's other projects have fallen by the wayside during the show.

“I have a lot on my plate,” Polanc added.

“It has always been neglected in recent years and has meant that I haven't been able to do it justice as much as I would have liked.” However, “Let's Dance” fans don't have to do without it completely.

“There is a podcast by and with me and one or two live sessions.” Because a star is canceled, Biyon Kattilathu will soon be seen on “Let's Dance”.
