It is one of the few mobile home parking spaces in Hamburg that will now be eliminated due to renovation work.
A park is now to be built directly on the Elbe.
Hamburg – During the Corona period, motorhomes became very popular.
The parking spaces, especially those directly on the Elbe, are rare for mobile homes.
A particularly popular mobile home parking space in the port of Hamburg on the Elbe is now facing radical renovation, as the Hamburg Senate announced in a press release.
Motorhome parking space directly on the Elbe in Hamburg before the end
For a small fee, travelers could park their motorhomes directly at the Hamburg fish market and enjoy the view of the Elbe, giant containers and luxury yachts passing by - but this opportunity is coming to an end.

The asphalt parking space, located between the Hamburg fish market and the jetties, will probably have to give way to plans for a new park.
Details of these renovation plans have not yet been published.
“It is a complex planning process that requires the participation of many actors,” explains the Authority for the Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture.
District office manager abolishes mobile home parking space - green promenade is to come
Ralf Neubauer, head of the Hamburg-Mitte district office, has already announced the approaching end of the parking space: “With the expansion of the Antonipark directly on the Elbe, an area that previously served mainly as a parking lot for mobile homes will be transformed into a green promenade for the general public. “It is still unclear whether there will be an alternative parking space for motorhome enthusiasts.
The popularity of the parking space is reflected in numerous positive Google reviews: “The nighttime view of the harbor alone is worth 5 stars” or “Centrally located and easily accessible despite arriving on a Sunday afternoon.
Very quiet and idyllic.”

Although the pitch is not comparable to a fully equipped campsite - according to Google reviews, it lacks showers, water and electricity connections - it has received 4.1 out of 5 stars, right on the Elbe and close to the Reeperbahn.
What will happen next with the parking space remains unclear for the time being.
