“Role model and sponsor”: After his death, his companion Albert Tomasini († 84) pays tribute.

He was the driving force behind the CSU in town.

Putzbrunn – Albert Tomasini, the driving force behind the CSU Putzbrunn, has died.

He was 84 years old.

With him, Putzbrunn is losing a grandee of local politics.

Tomasini was a local council member for the CSU for 30 years, and chaired the parliamentary group for 16 of those years.

From May 1990 to August 1997 and May 2002 to April 2002 he held the office of second mayor. For four months (November 2005 to March 2006) he led the municipality as acting mayor and mastered the transition after the conviction of the elected town hall boss Josef Kellermeier until the election of Edwin Klostermeier.

“From one day to the next he took on the difficult task,” says Klostermeier, “without a complaint, even though it was not an easy task.”

Awarding of the Citizen's Medal

His merits in the service of the community were recognized with the awarding of the Citizen's Medal on January 18, 2009. An honor that, according to Klostermeier, is rarely awarded, but for Albert Tomasini, for his “comprehensive commitment to our community, it is a well-deserved honor Life's work."

The memorial stone on Glonner Straße goes back to Tomasini's commitment.

He remembers the injured and killed children who played with explosives found shortly after the end of the war and in which Tomasini also lost two of his brothers.

In his office, Tomasini was also represented in various special purpose associations and held the office of supervisory board at the Putzbrunn municipal utilities.

He was also a member of the district council for 30 years.

“His word endured”

“Albert was a role model, supporter, advisor and friend,” recalls Bundestag member Florian Hahn (CSU).

Tomasini was a Christian socialist in the best sense of the word, characterized by a Christian view of humanity and social commitment.

His seat on the social committee of the district council shows that he cared about normal people.

“That was where his themes lay,” said Hahn.

The fact that he now has a mandate in the Bundestag is largely thanks to Tomasini.

He learned a lot from his time on the local council with him; Tomasini was strong with words and arguments.

“He was one of the first who supported me, encouraged me to run for local council and ultimately to run for the Bundestag.”

At the age of two, the native of South Tyrol came to Putzbrunn with his family in 1941, where he met his wife Karin.

Albert Tomasini was a police chief inspector by profession.

Although he always carried his South Tyrolean origins in his heart, he was a Bavarian and Putzbrunner with heart and soul.

He dedicated his free time to the clubs, was a shooting master with the Wendlstoana Schützen, was a member of the saluting procession, was a co-founder of the folk dance and customs association and a board member of the support association of the St. Aegidius Church in Keferloh.

He was involved “in the construction of our new church center, in the creation of new residential and commercial areas and in the planning of the sports facility at Florianseck.

“He was able to accompany the inauguration of our triple gymnasium as acting mayor,” says Klostermeier.

He always pitched in in his “Putzbrunn cosmos,” says Hahn.

He was reliable, “his word stood.”

Albert Tomasini died on January 17th of this year at the age of 84. The “respect that he deserves will remain present even after death,” said Klostermeier.
