“The goal is robust and punctual train traffic”: To achieve this, the railway now wants to renew its tracks between Freising and Marzling.

And that has an impact.

Freising district

– Deutsche Bahn (DB) is renewing overhead lines and tracks in the section between Freising and Marzling on the Munich-Regensburg railway line and wants to make “an important contribution to a strong rail network in the region”.

The railway reports: “The goal is robust and punctual train traffic on the railway line.”

Work will begin this Friday, February 2nd and is expected to continue until September.

During the main work from February 9th to 23rd, 2024, the route between Freising and Langenbach will only be accessible on a single track during the day.

This essentially results in the following changes and restrictions for travelers and residents:

Regional transport

  • Failure of the RE 22 (Regensburg – Munich Airport) between the airport terminal and Landshut

  • Failure of RB 33 (Landshut – Freising – Munich) in the Freising – Landshut section

  • As a replacement, buses run between Munich Airport Terminal, Freising and Landshut Hbf.

Train

  • The S1 between Neufahrn and Freising will be canceled during the day between 7:10 a.m. and 11:15 p.m. on the following days: Saturday, February 10th;

    Sunday, February 11th;

    Saturday, February 17;

    Sunday, February 18th.

    Replacement buses are running.

  • The S1 between Neufahrn and the airport runs as scheduled.

  • In addition, there are further individual train cancellations during the night.

  • The Freising “Klärwerk” level crossing is closed to cars, cyclists and pedestrians from January 30th to March 9th and from July 27th to September 9th.

  • The Marzlinger footpath is only open to residents and cyclists during construction work.

    Continuous accessibility for construction vehicles must be guaranteed.

Also work at night and on Sundays

DB asks for your understanding that some of the work also takes place at night and on Sundays and public holidays.

A so-called gang warning system is used to warn workers of approaching trains.

The aim is to keep noise pollution for residents as low as possible.

Current information on construction sites in the S-Bahn area can be found at s-bahn-muenchen.de/baustellen.
