New council with visions: Markus Hiereth (ÖDP) was sworn in by Mayor Sebastian Thaler as Alexander Krimmer's successor and immediately submitted his first application.

Barely sworn in and the first application has already been passed: On Tuesday, Markus Hiereth, the new Echinger ÖDP local councilor, was in the spotlight twice.
Eching
- The first time Markus Hiereth was in focus together with the new local councilor Gabriele Wucholt at the swearing in by Mayor Sebastian Thaler, the second time when his application was being dealt with with the title “Traffic infrastructure between Neufahrn and Feldmoching: Status of the A92 motorway and to Clarifying railway routes through letters”.
Hiereth's application (we have reported) calls on the municipality of Eching to write three letters to the responsible authorities for improvements to the rail infrastructure and the expansion of the A92 motorway.
The reliability of the S 1 leaves more and more to be desired
The starting point for the considerations is that the S1, the most important connection for commuters, leaves something to be desired in terms of reliability due to the strain on the Landshut-Munich railway line.
There are also plans for the six-lane expansion of the A92 between the Neufahrn motorway junction and the Feldmoching motorway triangle.
And then there is the feasibility study carried out in 2003 by the communities of Oberschleißheim, Unterschleißheim, Eching and Neufahrn for a conventional railway line as an alternative to the airport transrapid that was then planned parallel to the A 92.
A letter to the federal Autobahn GmbH concerns, among other things, the bridges in the Echinger municipal area and whether these will be demolished and rebuilt if a railway line parallel to the A92 is later implemented because the span is too small.
Or the question of whether the widening of the A92 will be postponed due to the foreseeable additional costs and the fact that it does not yet take rail transport concerns into account.
Questions are also being asked about the railway
A letter to Deutsche Bahn should ask how much the capacity of the existing route can be increased through digitalization and how said digitalization changes the assessment of the need for a third and fourth track between Neufahrn and Feldmoching.
Letter number three should be sent to the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Construction and Transport, in which, for example, the manner in which the Ministry of Transport will take into account the state parliament's decision of May 2023 and submit the “robust implementation concept” including a timetable to the state parliament should be addressed will provide.
The community is hoping to get an idea of the extent to which the current plans for motorway expansion are compatible with a new railway line.
Furthermore, it needs to be clarified when and to what extent the capacity of the existing railway line can be increased using other signaling technology.
Mayor wants to “chase out” letters

While Mayor Sebastian Thaler was in favor of “chasing out” the three letters, Georg Bartl (CSU) was against it.
He doesn't believe in burdening the administration with unnecessary work with applications on federal issues.
But Bartl was in the minority.
Hiereth's application was approved with four votes against.
