The fifth season is approaching its climax: parades with often creative carnival floats are planned in numerous cities and towns, especially on the last carnival weekend.

District

– Many people consider the foolish time to be the first major event highlight of the year.

The anticipation is correspondingly great.

In some places, communities and associations are busy planning the parades and decorating the floats long in advance.

While some villages organize a carnival parade every year, the ambitious Maschkerers elsewhere have to wait several years until the next Gaudiwurm comes through their hometown.

An overview of this year's carnival parades in the region:

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

This year it is the children's turn in the municipality of Böbing.

On Tuesday, February 13th, the little carnival fools will happily parade through the streets of the resort from 1:30 p.m.

There are celebrations indoors and outdoors in Epfach

“Our Gaudiwurm is rolling again,” announces the Epfach carnival society.

It will set off on Tuesday, February 13th - at 2:11 p.m. sharp - and will only end in Haslachstrasse.

However, the fun doesn't end there.

Both a carnival party in a tent and various guard performances on an open-air stage invite you to celebrate afterwards.

The community of Hohenfurch can once again offer a special treat for die-hard carnival fans this year.

On Saturday, February 3rd, the traditional night carnival parade will be moving through the town for the eleventh time.

The colorful hustle and bustle starts at 4 p.m. with a “warm-up on the open air stage” at Gasthof Negele.

From 7 p.m., the many brightly lit floats bring the day back to the community.

However, the end of the move in Hohenfurch is far from over.

As the carnival club announces, seasoned fools can then look forward to a party in the heated tent and a performance by the band “Kzwoa”.

Numerous gardeners from the district have also announced their visits.

Boundaries are being exceeded in Prem and Lechbruck

A traditional and cross-border carnival parade can be admired in the far west of the district.

This year too, the neighboring communities of Lechbruck and Prem, which are separate from Lech, are putting on the joint Gaudiwurm event.

On Tuesday, February 13th, the colorful procession of fools first sets off in Prem.

It starts there at 1 p.m.

He is expected to arrive in Lechbruck around 2:30 p.m., where the parade will then turn into a colorful carnival hustle and bustle in front of the town hall.

A bar tent and a drinks stand help to supply thirsty carnival fans.

The Penzberg city center will also be “firmly in the hands of fools again” on Sunday, February 11th from 2 p.m.

First, the traditional Gaudiwurm of the Penzberger Fasching organizing committee moves through the city center and then ends in the town square, where the colorful carnival activity continues from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Don’t skip it!” is the befitting message from the organizers.

Schwabsoien is already a must for many people

The city of Schongau is also trying to do justice to the celebratory mood of the many fools and has “as always” chosen Carnival Sunday, February 11th, as the date for the big “carnival procession with a special backdrop”.

From 12 p.m. there is a bar and the right music at Marienplatz to put you in a good mood.

Before the actual parade begins at 2 p.m. and afterward, performances by numerous gardeners are on the program.

The local newspapers in the Weilheim-Schongau district are represented on Instagram under “merkur_wm_sog”.

“The fools are on the loose in Schwabsoien,” says the carnival club.

The parade in the Schönach community has long been a must for many party fans.

On Saturday, February 10th, the starting signal will be fired at 12 noon, and the much-awaited carnival will begin with a warm-up.

The subsequent Gaudiwurm is followed by the “Carnival hustle and bustle in the tent”.

Due to the bar operation, entry is only possible for carnival fans aged 16 and over.

The bands “Bloody-Chicken-Heads” and “Lausbuam” provide the musical accompaniment.

Regional gardens and show dance groups will also demonstrate their skills.

On the market square and in the Fohlenhof in Steingaden

The organizers of the carnival parade in Steingaden on Saturday, February 3rd are also promising a “legendary open air party”.

The market square is transformed into the “main zone” for the exuberant celebration.

At 1:30 p.m., half an hour after the line-up, the colorful procession sets off.

The Fohlenhof then opens its doors at 2:30 p.m. and makes its inner courtyard available for the final party.

DJ Tom Gierl will take care of the musical accompaniment.
