Comptroller Engelman: "Immediately correct the deficiencies in the implementation of the 'one soul' reform for the war wounded and all disabled IDF"/State Comptroller's Office
The State Comptroller, Mathenyahu Engelman, is speeding up the tests on the October 7 default - this is what Vala learned today (Thursday).
At the beginning of the month, a letter was sent to Yossi Shelley, Director General of the Prime Minister's Office, in which the auditor asked to receive documents concerning 27 details, among them: meetings of the political cabinet on the subject, documents regarding the establishment of the buffer zone on the border of the Gaza Strip, the construction of the underground barrier, the transfer of funds to Hamas, as well as documents concerning the discussions of the economic-social cabinet. Shin Bet head Ronan Bar and MLA head Tzachi Hanegbi also received an identical letter, when the auditor's office had already begun to check computers and documents handed over by the Shin Bet.
Sources within the government do not like the auditor's approach, which examines its conduct and that of its arms during the war.
The Cabinet Secretary, Yossi Fox, asked to postpone the inspection for six months and he even met with the auditor on this issue, but his request was rejected.
On the other hand, those close to the auditor reject the claims that the inspection he is currently conducting is convenient for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Engelman's entourage also claimed that the letter sent to the Director General of the Prime Minister's Office, which includes the rejection of the Prime Minister's request, is conclusive proof that no discount is given to anyone. Engelman is expected to publish two reports on the failure on October 7, the first of which will deal with all the events that took place in The first 24 hours, and the second will deal with the events that led to the failure and the disaster. Both reports are expected to be published in the coming year.
In the meantime, a meeting between Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and the State Comptroller is expected to take place soon, after Halevi criticized Engelman following the inspection.
Last week, the Chief of Staff sent a harsh letter to the State Comptroller, in which he wrote that starting an audit during the war would harm the commanders' performance. The war," it reads.
Engelman replied to Helevy: "After over 100 days of combat in which the IDF moved to different combat phases, as stated by IDF officials, the serious failures that led to the events of October 7 require a deep and incisive examination of the state's audit of all ranks - the political, military and civil.
The auditor made it clear that the audit does not deal with the conduct of the war, but with "examining the failures that preceded it".
