The ravages of time have taken their toll on four buildings owned by the municipality of Nandlstadt.
Now they are being put to the test.
Your future is uncertain.
Nandlstadt
- Mayor Gerhard Betz wanted to give the Nandlstadt market councilors a status report on the condition of four municipal buildings at the most recent meeting.
He invited an expert, building authority manager Johann Pichlmaier, who provided the local council with data and facts.
The monastery
The former monastery on Marktstrasse, which has a total area of 1,474 square meters and dates back to 1885, currently houses the Nandlstadt Vhs and the elementary school's lunchtime care.
Pichlmaier drew attention to a few problems in the basement of the building: “The walls are very damp” because the basement area is “not well ventilated.”
Also “the stairs are dilapidated”.
You also have to keep an eye on the oil heating system, “which has been around for around 35 years,” explained Pichlmaier.

Transylvanian House
Pichlmaier also classified the neighboring “Transylvanian House” as being in need of renovation.
The building, which previously housed a butcher's shop with a sales room, currently houses the neighborhood help Café International and a driving school.
There are two apartments on the upper floor that urgently need to be renovated, said the building authority manager.
In general, the entire building structure is in need of renovation.
The oil heating system, which was installed in 2012, was also not optimally designed.
“The tank system is small.” That means: “We have to refuel two to three times in the winter,” reported Pichlmaier.
That is not optimal.

Bräuanger 2
According to the head of the building authority, the building at Bräuanger 2 is a “classic post-war building”. In addition to two apartments, it also houses the community's emergency shelter for the homeless.
The problem: The building's concrete is "soaked through", the basement stairs are dilapidated and the oil heating is at its limit.
“We have to worry every year that the heating will survive the winter,” said Pichlmaier.

CSU building
In the 479 square meter CSU building on Bahnhofstrasse, which once housed the savings bank, “the toilet facilities and the facade are in need of renovation,” emphasized Pichlmaier.
Mayor Gerhard Betz reported when asked by the Freisinger Tagblatt that the municipality bought the building in 2021 - its use is still completely open.

Because of its close proximity to the town hall, it would be conceivable that parts of the administration could be outsourced.
“We have no possibility of expanding the town hall,” said the town hall boss in an interview with the FT.
That's why it's very important to the mayor to "keep and prepare" the building.
The future of these four municipal properties is still completely open.
In a first step, the municipality's steering committee should deal with the buildings and create a concept.
The local council will then discuss how to proceed.
