Jimmy Kimmel brings Gelsenkirchen, Donald Trump and Taylor Swift together in one show.

The city in the Ruhr area is suddenly in the spotlight on US television.

Hollywood/Gelsenkirchen – What do Gelsenkirchen, Donald Trump and Taylor Swift have in common?

They were all the subject of the last edition of the American late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.

But unlike Donald Trump and Taylor Swift, the well-known TV presenter in Gelsenkirchen (NRW) was not sure whether it really existed.

US presenter compares Trump to Taylor Swift

Donald Trump is back on the talk shows.

Probably in many parts of the world – and especially in America.

No wonder, after all, some of the former president's statements raise questions.

Trump recently claimed that he was better known than Taylor Swift, reports late night legend Jimmy Kimmel on his popular show.

The singer regularly sets sales records with her albums and recently knocked Elvis off the throne as the most successful solo artist of all time.

But according to Kimmel, Trump doesn't seem to be impressed by this.

Not only is he better known than Swift, his fans are also more loyal, Trump is said to have said.

Kimmel responds mockingly that Taylor Swift's fans, who incidentally call themselves "Swifties," would probably have won if the singer had called on them to storm the Capitol.

Jimmy Kimmel is “not sure if Gelsenkirchen really exists”

“How does he even come up with that?” asks Kimmel.

“Trump is not running against Taylor Swift.” And anyway, if Trump appears at a campaign event in a football stadium, there would still be enough empty seats for a Taylor Swift concert.

And in contrast to Trump's campaign events, the appearances are not free.

Fans sometimes pay thousands of dollars for a concert.

Some camp outside the venues for weeks beforehand.

And then Kimmel asks Trump the crucial questions.

“How well known are you?

In Singapore?

In Tokyo?

In Gelsenkirchen, in Germany?” Because there, in Gelsenkirchen, Taylor Swift will play three concerts in the Veltins Arena in the summer of 2024, which can accommodate more than 62,000 people.

“And that even though no one has ever heard of Gelsenkirchen,” says Kimmel, adding: “I’m not even sure whether it really exists.”

The approximately 250,000 residents of Gelsenkirchen would probably prove the TV presenter wrong.

Whether the tip would reach him remains to be seen.

What is certain is that the announcement of Taylor Swift's concerts in the Veltins Arena alone caused hotel prices in the Ruhr area to explode during this period.

According to current information, Donald Trump is not scheduled to appear in Gelsenkirchen.
