In the video: the words of Rabbi Shai Tahan/PR
We all know the moving videos in which Israeli soldiers are seen returning from the battlefield in Gaza or in the north, to their homes, but father and mother and to the family.
The surprise effect - adds a lot to the exciting moment.
The soldier surprises his family, and then the excitement doubles and redoubles.
Even in this week's parshat, Parshat Jethro, explains Rabbi Shai Tahan, head of the Sha'ari Ezra community and head of the Arzi HaLebanon teaching house, there is a similar moment, where Jethro, with his daughter - Moshe's wife and children, comes to Moshe.
But unlike what we see today - Jethro does not surprise Moshe and does not use the surprise effect, and why?
The interpreters explain, so that the full attention goes to Moshe's wife.
