Le Figaro Marseille
“Ludovine, get out of it, Marseille doesn’t want you!”
, we could hear this Thursday evening in front of the premises of the Biaggi campus in Marseille.
The entrance to this group of buildings housing several higher education establishments, usually known for its calm, was greatly disrupted by around a hundred demonstrators who came to show their hostility to the holding of a conference on wokism.
The event, entitled
“Wokism: a danger for the family”
and presented by Ludovine de La Rochère, had already encountered strong opposition from the Marseille left.
Several elected officials, including two deputy mayors of Marseille, publicly opposed the holding of this conference led by the president of the Family Union (formerly La Manif pour tous).
A call to demonstrate during a
“festive committee”
was also shared online to
“welcome”
the participants in this conference.
“She is the creator of La Manif pour tous, an organization which fought against the rights of homosexuals and trans people. It’s not normal that people are still protesting against the rights of human beings
,” maintains Maxime, who came to shout his opposition to Ludovine de La Rochère.
“We are here to say that Marseille is a diverse, cosmopolitan city and opposed to the Family Union.
Reactionary movements have no place here
,” explains to Le
Figaro
Sophie Roques, deputy mayor of Marseille in charge of civil status, then at the head of the procession.
Jets of flour and beer
Behind, a real fanfare was set up to
“welcome”
the participants who had simply come to listen to the conference.
Banners bearing the logo
“Feminist response”
,
“Ludovine, we don’t like you.
Signed: unions, families and all the others
(sic)
”
were enthroned in front of the demonstrators, who did not hesitate to spray confetti, flour and even beer on anyone daring to make their way into the campus.
“We have to keep a festive side
,” smiles Maxime.
Aware of the event, which was officially undeclared, the authorities had several police officers lined up in riot gear to prevent any excess.
According to our information, a police officer was slightly injured in the face by tear gas.
The demonstration fortunately ended peacefully, with participants cordially invited to leave the premises after a few hours of singing and throwing flour.
“They are only looking for one thing: provocation”
, underlines Ludovine de La Rochère to Le
Figaro
, interviewed shortly before the start of her conference and while the screams of the demonstrators echoed through the windows of the premises hosting the event.
“They are into violence, hatred and insults, while trying to make people believe that it comes from us.
For them, we do not have the right to freedom of expression.
They are typical of cancel culture
,” she says by way of condemnation.
(These elected officials) used the audience their status gives them to relay these calls to demonstrate.
In reality, they are themselves actors of discrimination and are clearly complicit in woke activism.
Ludovine de La Rochère, president of the family union
In the room, nearly 80 people finally sat down to listen attentively to the presentation by the president of the Family Union.
This returned to the phenomenon of wokism, its characteristics and its
“drifts on the traditional family”
.
“I firmly support the traditional family, we must show that we are not afraid and that we can take responsibility
,” said a participant who wished to remain anonymous.
“I didn’t know a conference was going to be held here.
All this opposition made me want to go there
,” explains a student.
“Basically, I wasn’t planning to come.
But we must defend the freedom to express ourselves, it’s important
,” argue Théo and Jacques.
“There is a growing awareness about the existence of wokism. Associations and initiatives are multiplying against this movement. I am convinced that like any ideology, this ideology will collapse
,” detailed Ludovine de La Rochère during her presentation, which ended with a cloud of applause.
“I have already encountered opposition in Toulouse, Brest or Nantes. Opponents have already entered the conference rooms: we have always given them the microphone to listen to them and it has always gone very well. These people have prejudices about what we think
,” she explained to Le
Figaro
, castigating the elected officials of the municipal majority who condemned her arrival.
“They used the audience their status gives them to relay these calls to demonstrate.
In reality, they are themselves actors of discrimination and are obviously accomplices of woke activism
,” she concludes.
