The police didn't need to investigate the rioter - he volunteered.
He had previously caused property damage amounting to 15,000 euros in the underground car park in Schongau and stole a car key.

Schongau - The city caretaker encountered some repentant sinners yesterday, Thursday afternoon: A 24-year-old from Schongau contacted him and admitted that he was responsible for some of the damage.
A few hours earlier, shortly after 7 a.m., the caretaker had discovered that the city's underground car park on District Court Street had been completely devastated during the night: lamps had been removed from the ceiling, the emergency exit light had been turned off, and cables had been pulled out of the ceiling and walls cracked.
In addition, the two glass parts of the two access doors to the second basement floor were destroyed.
Ceiling lamps there were also damaged and the entire wastewater lifting system technology was torn out of the wall and smashed.
Total property damage: around 15,000.
An envelope containing a key was also stolen from a car sharing company's mailbox.
The 24-year-old explained afterwards that he was in an exceptional psychological situation.
He returned the stolen key.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against him for criminal damage to property and theft.
