“A dream has come true, we finally have our own car”: Alexandra Wendelken was very happy at the official handover and presentation of the vehicle at the animal shelter in Kirchasch.
The whole thing was made possible by a fundraising campaign.
Kirchasch - Wendelken, together with many helpers and sponsors, initiated the purchase of the first own vehicle in the club's history.
Over 40 companies had raised money and can now display their logos on the new Renault Kangoo.
Having your own club car has huge advantages for animal rights activists: “Up until now, we always had to drive our own (private) cars if we wanted to fetch animals or material.
Every now and then we found someone who had a car with a trailer hitch to pull our trailer," says Wendelken, describing the animal welfare association's mobility situation, before he finally had success with his own sponsored vehicle.
“Many attempts have been made before, but only now, thanks to the hejo-Marketing agency from Passau, have we managed to find enough sponsors for our first animal welfare car and implement the idea,” said the association's chairwoman happily at the press conference with her board colleagues and helpers .
Now the club can finally transport larger animals or quantities of food and is finally independent of the willingness of others to drive.
Wendelken thanked all the sponsors, mainly from the district, who had made the financing possible and, as a small gesture, were able to secure some advertising space on the white Renault Kangoo.
On behalf of the district, Hans Wiesmaier, honorary chairman of the Bavarian Community Association and personally associated with the animal shelter for many years, also thanked everyone who participated in purchasing the vehicle.
“A society can only function when we work together, you can only burn for something that burns within you,” said the mayor of Fraunberg.
Sophie Brunner from hejo-Marketing in Passau also expressed her thanks and wished the new car and all its users an accident-free journey, as previous speakers had already said.
