These are new standards for the Miesbach district.

Elsewhere, accommodations with several hundred asylum seekers are already in operation.

There is experience in Fürstenfeldbruck, for example.

Warngau/Fürstenfeldbruck

– A container complex next to the Vivo site in which up to 500 refugees are to be accommodated: What is to be built in Warngau is already a reality in a similar form elsewhere.

In the large district town of Fürstenfeldbruck, for example, the former air warfare school was decommissioned for military purposes and has been used as accommodation for up to 1,000 asylum seekers since 2018 - a branch of the anchor center in the Bayern barracks in Munich.

Upon request, Mayor Christian Götz (Bruck Citizens' Association) explains what experiences his city has had and what is advisable when accommodating so many people centrally.

care

The government of Upper Bavaria organizes basic care for refugees - accommodation, food and health - and the Caritas Fürstenfeldbruck Center is responsible for the asylum social advice on site.

“Therefore, as a city we have nothing to do with accommodation,” says Götz.

Most recently, 600 to 700 people were housed there.

It is very good that Caritas is there as a social service provider - “that is very important”.

It is also important to “create offers for people that go beyond accommodation and food.

Anything more is good."

Conflicts

With so many different cultures coming together here, conflicts are inevitable, confirms Götz.

Security and fast police are very important here.

“We don’t have any major problems in Fürstenfeldbruck.

Everything is actually quite peaceful.

As a municipality, we don't notice much." But that was different when the facility was occupied by up to 1,500 people.

The experience from this is also the central message for Götz: “The occupancy density is essential.

It can’t be too big.”

Public transport

Many refugees are drawn to the state capital.

Take the bus that stops at the air base gate to Bruck train station and from there take the S-Bahn to Munich.

“We have a very good bus system that is also used,” says Götz.

The location should definitely have a connection.

“If necessary, you should create one.” The various offers from the group of helpers exist outside of the facility.

Conclusion

“Everything depends on the occupancy density,” summarizes Götz.

Everything went well in Fürstenfeldbruck.

There are no complaints from citizens.

And one more thing should not be overlooked: “There is additional work for the local administration.”
