Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) still saw a need for advice.
Potsdam - The climate plan was on hold for the time being.
It is a cross-departmental climate protection strategy with numerous measures to achieve climate neutrality by 2045. It is about saving climate-damaging emissions in many areas such as construction and living, industry, transport and agriculture.
On Friday, an alliance of environmental associations criticized the Brandenburg Prime Minister in an open letter.
The environmentalists accused him of blocking the climate plan.
However, the State Chancellery sent a statement on the climate plan to the Ministry of the Environment on Thursday.
This will be evaluated, said Minister Vogel.
“Discussions will take place with the State Chancellery next week, as a result of which the climate plan will be approved in the cabinet.” When asked, government spokesman Florian Engels said: “The implementation of climate protection in Brandenburg will not be hindered by the longer procedure for the climate plan. “
Regarding the open letter from the environmentalists, Environment Minister Vogel said: “It is impressive how a broad alliance of scientists and youth organizations, environmental and agricultural associations are demanding ambitious climate protection from politicians.” It shows that many social actors and groups want the decision to be binding framework for the state government's climate protection activities was considered necessary and urgent.
