Colombia has been facing an unprecedented drought for a month due to the
El Niño
phenomenon , which wreaks havoc on its water resources, threatening agriculture, livestock and the well-being of the population.
The water level in the La Regadera reservoir, which supplies water to the south of Bogotá, is at 35% of its capacity.
This has caused concern in nearby towns, with farmers warning that crops have suffered the ravages of drought, while livestock have been sold due to a lack of fresh grass to feed them.
In the north of Colombia, in Barranco Lebrija, the drought has put the fishing community in crisis.
The town's river has completely dried up, exposing the sandbanks and destroying the daily fishing, the town's main livelihood.
