We all have a cult work.

Cyrano, The Grail Tale, XIII, Harry Potter, Akira

.... Whether it is a novel or a comic book, classic literature or science fiction, the pleasure of reading, the passion for the story is the same.

It is with this observation that the Cultissime association, supported by the city of Angers and the Pays de la Loire region, is launching the first international festival of cult works.

On September 27, 28 and 29, these creations will be celebrated in one form or another which, from Perrault to Tolkien via Dumas or Osamu Tezuka, give us ever more of a taste for reading.

Cultissime will offer three days of immersion in the world of books, comics, comics, manga and film adaptations and series that have marked our lives.

Meetings, exhibitions, conferences, workshops and activities for the whole family are on the program (which will be revealed in detail in the coming months) and will take place within the grounds of the former Saint-Jean hospital, in Angers.

Three sponsors with very different profiles support this first edition: the science fiction writer Bernard Werber (whose Ant cycle

is

considered cult by many), the author and translator Clémentine Beauvais, who has notably made sparks in literature youth with the best-seller

Les Petites Reines

, and the virtuoso of the 9th art Alain Ayroles (De cape et de fangs, Les Indes fourbes...).

Prizes for books, comics, adaptations and Cultissime reissues will be awarded during the festival, proof that there is no need to wait until an author is dead for them to be considered as worship.

The general public is also invited to participate in the vote by registering with the Cultissime Academy.
