An accident involving two vehicles had consequences in Starnberg on Friday morning.

There were two injuries and traffic delays.

Starnberg – Difficult situations repeatedly arise at the intersection of Gautinger Straße/Leutstettener Straße/Petersbrunner Straße in Starnberg.

Things didn't stop there on Friday; an accident occurred there around 11 a.m.

According to the police, a 54-year-old man from Rhineland-Palatinate wanted to turn left onto Gautinger Straße in his VW T-Roc coming from the north train station.

He overlooked an oncoming VW Passat, which was driven by a 33-year-old from Starnberg.

There was a collision, as a result of which the vehicles crashed into a light pole on the traffic island there.

Both drivers complained of pain in their hand after the accident.

The recording officers estimated the total damage at around 40,000 euros.

Both vehicles had to be towed.

In addition to the police and emergency services, 15 comrades from the Starnberg and Leutstetten volunteer fire departments were also on duty.

“We ensured fire protection, picked up any leaking operating materials and, at the request of the police, set up a partial closure of the intersection,” reports operations manager Klaus Vogl to the Starnberger Merkur.

As a result, road users coming from the city center had to turn around at the Edeka parking lot.

Since there are no known uninvolved witnesses to the accident, the police are asking for information.

Anyone who can provide further information about what happened should contact the inspectorate on (0 81 51) 36 40.
