After his unexpected and controversial departure,
FIFA
issued a resolution in favor of the experienced Argentine coach
José Nestor Pekerman
in response to his lawsuit against the
Venezuelan Football Federation
(FVF), his last team, for breach of contract.
In that sense, the Vinotinto entity is obliged to disburse a high amount as compensation:
3 million dollars
.
According to a ruling released in the last few hours but dated November 2023, the Court of the mother house of football demands from the FVF a payment that corresponds to various factors:
1.71 million as "remuneration owed"
to the DT, plus 5 percent annual interest, which began to run on August 23 until the debt is settled, and
1.14 million for a "contractual penalty
. "
The federation will have a
maximum period of 45 days
to make the full payment.
Likewise, in the same document, FIFA makes it clear that "
any other claim by the plaintiff is rejected
."
Therefore, there will not be another legal episode between the former coach of the Argentine National Team and his last institution.
The cycle that the
74-year-old
coach led the Venezuelan national team
began in November 2021 and came to an end in March 2023
.
Despite having assumed the mission of generating a restructuring in his team to try to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, the coach decided to put an end to their contractual relationship prior to the start of the Qualifiers.

A total of 15 months was the duration of the Pekerman cycle, in which he only
directed 10 games
.
In them he left a record of
five victories, four defeats
(three corresponding to the Qualifiers for Qatar 2022) and
one draw
.
Following FIFA's ruling, the Venezuelan federation did not issue any statement in this regard.
The last time he referred to Pekerman was to announce through his social networks that the termination of the contract between both parties had been "amicable" and in terms of "professionalism and commitment."
However, several media outlets in the wine country revealed that the breach of the contract was generated after several irregularities in the management of the president of the federation,
Pascual Lezcano
.
Even the predecessor of the former Colombia coach,
José Peseiro
, resigned from his position in Venezuela by demanding a 14-month salary debt, which was later settled.
After the resignation of the Argentine, the FVF decided that his compatriot
Fernando
Bocha
Batista
, who was Pekerman's field assistant, will take over as his replacement and seek to lead Venezuela to the 2026 World Cup.

So far, the current coach's cycle has already exceeded Pekerman's mandate in games played: in
eleven games
, he has
five wins, four draws and only two losses
.
Currently, Pekerman is without a club since his resignation from Venezuela.
Beyond some rumors that linked him as a possible Boca coach after the resignation of Jorge Almirón, the coach still showed no intention of sitting on a substitute bench again.
