Defense Minister Yoav Galant toured the Hermon Brigade today (Friday), where he received an overview of the activities of the alpinist unit that performs its missions on Mount Hermon.

Later, Galant and the commander of the 210 division, Brigadier General Zion Retzon, held a situation assessment and commanders' dialogue, together with the commander of the Hermon Brigade, Lt. Col. Avinoam Amuna, and the commander of the Oded Brigade, Lt. Col. Liron Appleman.
"Even here, in the northernmost corner of the State of Israel, on Mount Hermon - IDF forces are present, protecting, prepared, patrolling and are on full alert," Gallant said.
"We are carrying out three important efforts in the north - the political effort is a decisive effort.
I spoke yesterday with American Defense Minister Lloyd Austin, we talked about the effort to restore security and peace in a political way, so that the residents of the north can return to their homes safely.'

The forces are on very high alert, prepared on a large scale , and this is of course another action for the Air Force to be prepared, that the noses of the planes are pointed north for any eventuality that may happen.'
