The two emphasized that "the examination of the new ceasefire proposal focuses on the fact that any negotiation will lead to a complete end to the aggression (the fighting in Gaza), to the withdrawal of the occupation army outside the Strip, to the lifting of the blockade, the restoration of the Strip, the introduction of all the necessities of life to the Palestinian people, and the completion of an exchange deal."
The AP agency quoted a senior member of the Hamas organization as saying that "his organization will respond in the near future to a proposal that includes an extension of the cease-fire periods in Gaza and a phased exchange of prisoners."
He noted that a permanent ceasefire is the most important element for Hamas.
