Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgettisaid FRiday he would rather take out a stake in Ferrari thanStellantis amid talk of the Italian State taking a chunk of the Italo-Franco-American carmaker amid Italian plant closure fears in the absence of subsidies for electric cars.

"The State in Stellantis? I'd go into Ferrari instead", Giorgetti said.

Ferrari surged almost 10% on the Milan stock exchange Thursdayon record profits and seven-time F1 world champ Lewis Hamiltonjoining its motor racing unit.
