It is a colossal project which is progressing quickly on the heights of Saint-Raphaël (Var).
An embankment dam nearly 200 m long and 70 m wide will be built, a real flood shield when storms rage in the region's skies.

“This flood limiter will be capable of retaining up to 186,000 cubic meters of rain, the equivalent of 74 Olympic swimming pools,” announces the Estérel-Côte d'Azur urban community, at the origin of the project.
It is in this part of the Var that in November 2019 floods caused major damage, with the equivalent of two to three months of rain in forty-eight hours.
Along with fire in summer, rains have become public enemy number one in winter.
This is why the community of municipalities devotes 6 million euros to risk prevention each year.
