There is a new kindergarten in the municipality of Lenggries.

He moved into the rooms of the former “Creaktivum” at the currently empty Brauneck Hotel.

It's a temporary solution, but a very nice one.

Lenggries - The situation was precarious, the waiting list for kindergarten places in Lenggries was getting longer and longer - even though the municipality had opened a new two-group daycare center in the former "Post" hotel just over three years ago.

In the medium term, a new kindergarten is likely to be built on the barracks area.

But that will definitely take a few years.

But the community needed a solution quickly – and came across the former “Creaktivum”.

The building near the former Brauneck Hotel had previously been used by its operators for seminars and conferences.

“KKK” cultural events also took place in one of the rooms.

When Blue Lion GmbH withdrew from the hotel location, the lease with the owner of “Creaktivum” also expired.

The community - they own the land, which has a leasehold - got involved and found a sponsor for the new daycare center in “Kinderland Weyarn”.

With the last things in the backpack we moved in in January

In January he and the existing group moved from the villa near the specialist clinic to the new rooms.

“On the first day everyone met again at Stangengasse.

And the children marched down here with the last things in their backpacks.

“It was a really delightful idea from the educators,” says Petra Götzenberger, managing director of Kinderland Weyarn GmbH.

The provider operates 16 daycare centers in the districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshaut, Miesbach and Munich.

In addition to the 25 girls and boys from the existing group, there were 18 children who were on the waiting list.

For the new kindergarten year, the current afternoon group will move from the St. Jakobus kindergarten to Münchner Straße because the operating license is expiring.

“I think we will be full,” says Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher.

The daycare center offers a total of 75 places.

The lease is valid for five years.

The community is investing 300,000 euros in the renovation

The municipality invested around 300,000 euros in converting the premises and completed the approval process in practically record time.

“That was really sporty,” says Klaffenbacher.

“But it just turned out wonderfully, really beautiful,” says Götzenberger.

Most of the rooms lead off from a spacious cloakroom area, which is currently populated by cut-out monkeys dangling from the ceiling.

Where meetings used to take place, there is now gymnastics.

“The sports and exercise room is really great,” says the managing director.

The cozy group rooms are already populated by the “elves” and the “gnomes”.

The “goblins” will join us in the fall.

“Maybe we’ll start finding names again here,” says Götzenberger and laughs.

There is also a separate room for the “wobbly teeth,” the preschool children who attend the facility.

Around the corner is the large staff room with a desk and conference table and two sofas.

“Exactly what you want,” says Götzenberger.

Washbasin for little ones and very little ones

The community has completely renovated the sanitary rooms.

The washbasins hang at two heights – for little ones and very little ones.

And because the “Creaktivum” was previously used for catering, the daycare center now basically has its own restaurant.

Of course, the beer tap behind the bar is no longer in operation.

“From February we will also be offering lunch for the children here,” says Götzenberger.

This is cooked centrally and delivered to the various Kinderland locations.

But in the morning the children stop by the “restaurant” because the breakfast buffet is waiting there.

Everything from muesli to sausage bread is included, says Götzenberger.

There are seven employees at the Lenggries location, reports the managing director.

“Educators, childcare workers, educational support staff and a trainee.” They all also enjoy going outdoors with the children.

In the garden there is a large climbing frame for the girls and boys, which is “Made in Lenggries”.

It was built by the local company KristallTurm.

There are also rocking animals and a sandpit.

“There’s a sun sail over there,” explains Karl Ertl from the Technical Building Authority.

The asphalted area in the middle serves as a race track for bobby cars and pedal tractors.

And of course there is a gas station on the side for them.

While dropping off and picking up children at other locations often leads to a bit of traffic chaos, that's not a problem here either.

You can reach the spacious parking lot from Münchner Straße.

And from there directly to the main entrance, which was moved from the west to the south side.
