The national Ammunition Hill site is in danger of closing: the apparent cut in the budget for the coming year may lead to the dismissal of the essential workers for the site, but in the more likely case - will lead to its closure.
However, voila!
It was learned that the existing budget, which is NIS 2.5 million, is not being transferred to the center due to delays in the Prime Minister's Office.
About a year and a half ago, the appointment of the board of directors of the hill, which is made up of representatives of the fighting brigades, representatives of the bereaved families and representatives from the various government ministries, expired.
Officials on the site say wow!
that applications were submitted to extend the validity of the appointment to the Prime Minister's Office, but they were not promoted.
Now, when the website tried to get the rest of the budget that was cut from the Ministry of Finance for 2024, they were told: "We cannot transfer the money to a board whose appointment has expired."
"The site has worked perfectly for generations of fighters."

As mentioned, the down payment that is supposed to go to the heritage site for the next few months is still stuck and the board of directors of Ammunition Hill will meet this coming Tuesday to make a decision on the matter: "The site has worked in an exemplary manner for generations of fighters," said an official in the board of directors, "closing it means losing all organizational memory, The connections that the employees made with the fighters, the many documents and the training sets. We have reached an impasse and if there is no choice, we are probably moving towards closure."
The center in recent years:
In 2017, the Ammunition Hill became a government corporation under the Ministry of Jerusalem and Israel Tradition.
In 2022, the validity of the appointment of the board expired and they submitted a request for an extension.
When
the current government was established, the Ministry of Jerusalem and Tradition was split and the site was transferred to the responsibility of the Prime Minister's Office.
The
Prime Minister's Office does not promote the extension of appointments to the site's board of directors.
There was no response from the Prime Minister's Office.
