Alliance 90/The Greens founded a large local association in Finsing-Ottenhofen-Wörth.
In this way, the party wants to pool its forces at the grassroots level.
Ottenhofen - Pooling forces, supporting each other, being present in the individual communities and holding joint events: These are the goals the Alliance 90/The Greens party is pursuing with a new joint local association for Finsing, Ottenhofen and Wörth, as spokeswoman Annett Burgarth said at the general meeting on Wednesday evening in the Pizzeria Camillo in Ottenhofen.
In order to make the re-establishment possible, the Wörth and Finsing local associations were dissolved by mutual agreement in a first step in order to then create the expanded association structure.
Ottenhofen is to be added as a third municipality.
There was previously no local branch of the Green Party here.
In a second step, the board was elected and the name of the new association was also decided: Finsing-Ottenhofen-Wörth local association.
The newly elected team consists of the two board speakers Monika Palmer (Wörth) and Georg Hendlmeier (Finsing) as well as the three assessors Andrea Struck, Annett Burgarth (both Finsing) and Monika Wenger (Wörth).
Struck was “very happy that the base is expanding”.
Assessor Burgarth assured: “We will stay there and be approachable.” For Palmer, it was an important concern to strengthen cooperation: “It would be nice if it was spread across several shoulders.”
Hendlmeier, who works as a self-employed entrepreneur, wants to work for a “sustainable future and counteract the shift to the right”.
Wenger and Struck also contribute their knowledge as experienced local councilors; Wenger is also a district councilor.
Burgarth and Palmer are also involved in the Green district board.
Whether activities in the holiday program, discussions and events on key topics: the introduction round also included information about which activities have been offered so far in the local associations.
The deputy group leader in the district council, Helga Stieglmeier, said in her speech: “I am glad that people are finally waking up.” Especially in the east, “standing up against the right” deserves great respect in view of the threat situation there.
In her speech, Stieglmeier referred to the demonstrations for democracy and against right-wing extremism in which thousands of people are currently taking part across Germany.
The Green politician emphasized how important it is that civil society now takes a clear position - and that for democracy “we have to stand together across party lines”.
This Sunday, February 4th, at 2 p.m. at the Volksfestplatz in Erding, a major rally led by various democratic forces under the title “Erding is colorful!” will take place.
The Green Party appealed to go there to send a clear signal against right-wing extremism.
