Due to demolition work in the center of Ebersberg, half of an important traffic artery remains closed.

The mayor would like to keep a new zebra crossing permanently.

Ebersberg

- A construction site on Heinrich-Vogl-Straße is giving the city of Ebersberg a traffic diversion in the center - and a zebra crossing where none actually seemed possible.

The reason is that the dental entrepreneur family Prücklmaier is expanding its dental laboratory on the city's main traffic artery and adding a dental practice, apartments and an underground car park.

Heinrich-Vogl-Straße in Ebersberg is partially closed: traffic flows through the market square

Half of the street is closed for the demolition of two existing buildings.

Even if some drivers did not adhere to the ban on passage from the shopping center down towards the town hall on the first day, traffic towards Klostersee now flows past the train station and across the market square.

Demolition: In place of the two houses, a new building is being built for a laboratory, practice, apartments and underground car park.

Zebra crossings in yellow: “Why not all year round?”

The sidewalk on the eastern side of the street is also not accessible.

A temporary yellow zebra crossing was therefore installed at the level of the Freundl bakery - to make it easier for school children and other passers-by to get through safely.

The measure will probably only last until Saturday, February 10th, when a temporary full closure will allow the work to be completed.

Ulrich Proske (independent) is pleased about the temporary safe crossing at the point, which was previously not permitted because it is a connection to state road 2080.

“If it works for the construction site, why not all year round?” said the mayor of the traffic-plagued district town.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

In any case, the week-long zebra crossing, including the half-way closure, is a dress rehearsal for the new construction phase at the site, which will require similar measures.

According to the business family, that will probably no longer be the case this year.
