King Harald of Norway clears up the battles with Princess Märtha Louise's fiancé, the scandal shaman Durek Verrett, before the couple exchange vows.
Oslo – Princess Märtha Louise of Norway (52) wants to marry her fiancé Durek Verrett (49) this year.
On August 31, 2024, the self-proclaimed US spiritual healer and the sister of Crown Prince Haakon (50) want to get married in picturesque Geiranger in western Norway.
After an initially friendly reception, King Harald V of Norway (86) apparently now has significantly less euphoria for Märtha Louise's chosen one following attacks by his future son-in-law on the Norwegian press.

King Harald deserves credit for how warmly and openly he welcomed Verrett to the family after the wedding announcement: “We are pleased to welcome Durek Verrett to the family and we look forward to spending the big day with them celebrate.
We wish Märtha and Durek all the best,” the monarch said across the palace.
But the scandal shaman didn't thank the king, on the contrary: in mid-December he blatantly accused the Norwegian royal family of racism: "The royals are the biggest racists of all," said Verrett in the
"Quite Frankly
" podcast.
Not particularly good conditions for the upcoming marriage into the palace, but the monarch and his wife Queen Sonja of Norway (86) remained calm.
Relationship between Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett
Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett have been a couple since 2019.
They announced their engagement in June 2022 and they finally want to get married in August 2024.

But Durrek's radical statements about healing powers and energies are increasingly met with incomprehension among Norwegians.
However, as “Billed Bladet” reports, Verrett never tires of complaining about the media in Princess Märtha Louise’s home country.
Journalists recently asked King Harald what he would think of Durek Verrett's belief that the press had something against him: "I don't think he's right," the monarch simply stated to his people.

King Harald is further convinced that Durek Verrett is “used to the press in America, which is much more aggressive than our press.”
In doing so, the king further distances himself from his future son-in-law.
As part of the visit to the fact-checking website “Faktisk” on January 23, 2024, King Harald and Prince Haakon then moved on to the important questions.
King Harald's comment on his possible abdication can therefore also be seen as a clear dismissal of his future son-in-law.
