The two wind turbines near Mammendorf and Malching have had a record year.

They generated 40 percent more electricity than planned.

This is reported by the Bruck municipal utilities.

Fürstenfeldbruck - According to the municipal utilities, the two wind turbines in Mammendorf and Malching achieved record yields last year.

With 7,455,454 kWh (Mammendorf) and 7,179,527 kWh (Malching), both wind turbines not only exceeded the 7 million kilowatt hour mark for the first time, but also exceeded the forecast plan values by around 40 percent.

“This very good result once again underlines the reliability of wind power in the region,” says Managing Director Jan Hoppenstedt.

In addition, it is once again clear that the decision made more than ten years ago to rely on wind power as an essential pillar of renewable generation in order to advance the energy transition was correct.

“Last but not least, we see confirmation from the current figures that we are pushing forward the expansion of wind power locally together with the city of Fürstenfeldbruck and the communities in our supply area,” says Jan Hoppenstedt.

Future electricity demand in the grid area

Due to the mobility and heating transition that has begun, it can be assumed that electricity demand in the Fürstenfeldbruck municipal utility network area will increase by around a third by 2035, said Hoppenstedt.

This makes the rapid expansion of renewable energies - particularly through wind power - all the more necessary so that the regional energy transition can be realized.

Wind power in the region

The municipal utilities are currently working on various wind power projects, each with several systems in different implementation phases.

These projects are all located in or around the municipal utility network area.

Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck is developing a project with up to five wind turbines on Bruck's corridor.

The planning under construction law should be carried out together with the building administration of the city of Fürstenfeldbruck.

Hoppenstedt reports that long-term lease agreements have already been concluded for essential land required for the construction of the wind turbines.

Integration

Hoppenstedt emphasizes that great importance is placed on taking the interests of the city and its people into account.

This is ensured by involving citizens in the creation of building planning law.

In addition, they benefited indirectly from the success of the wind turbines through the city's participation.

The possibility of direct citizen participation should also be created.

Nearby residents should be the first to have the opportunity to participate in the wind turbines.

“Ultimately, we want to involve the population in our long-term commitment to renewable energies,” Hoppenstedt continued.

Information event

In order to provide information about the topic of wind power and the activities of Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck in the field of renewable energies, the utility is holding an information event on February 21, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at the company headquarters on Cerveteristrasse.

To better plan the event, please register at presse@stadtwerke-ffb.de.

For comparison: 2021 was - unlike 2023 - a rather weak wind year.

At that time the balance was like this.
