Remarkable contribution: Telis Finanzberatung from Miesbach recently donated 5,500 euros for the new inclusion adventure playground in Miesbach.

It's been a good year and a half since fundraising for the inclusion adventure playground at Nordgraben in Miesbach gained momentum.

Now the big goal has almost been achieved – despite high hurdles.

Miesbach – The contracts with the construction company have been concluded.

The new playground should be ready in the summer, without any financial burden on the city.

Here we go.

The non-profit Miesbach support group, which has looked after the old adventure playground on Nordgraben for decades, is now starting the next chapter.

As reported, the old dilapidated facility is to be replaced by a new inclusion adventure playground.

This means that all children – with and without disabilities – are offered a place to play.

Together with city council member Erhard Pohl, who is also involved in the AK playground, support group chairman Siegfried Faltlhauser has now signed the order papers - the playground will be built.

The groundbreaking ceremony and construction will begin at the beginning of April.

Certified security has its price

The fact that we have come this far is quite remarkable.

The sponsorship acquisition didn’t really start until the summer of 2022.

And the desired playground costs a lot of money.

They started with a cost estimate of around 250,000 euros - today the numbers are a lot higher.

Because the certified safety that all game elements must demonstrate has its price.

“An incredible result”

But even that can't stop the project.

In the meantime, countless people, companies, clubs and organizations have donated, bringing together the incredible sum of 335,000 euros.

“This is an incredible result,” says Pohl.

The financing of the equipment is thus secured, as is the majority of the earthmoving.

The fencing and fall protection still cause problems.

“We still need 50,000 to 60,000 euros,” Pohl adds up.

And the “icing on the cake,” according to Pohl, is a bicycle parking space and a disabled-accessible toilet.

However, if necessary, these would have to be implemented later if there is not enough money in the end.

“We want to set an example”

Nevertheless, it is now time to start the project.

“Many people have supported us expecting us to tackle the inclusion adventure playground.

We don't want to disappoint these donors and keep them waiting forever.

It's about making a statement.

“Somehow we’ll get the rest of the missing parts under control.”

His optimism is not self-evident.

“At first I was actually skeptical because it is a very athletic task,” reveals Pohl.

The goal was always to leave the financially struggling city out of the picture as much as possible.

“Now we see that we can actually do it without the city.

That makes us proud and happy.”

“Great collaboration”

What Pohl is particularly pleased about is the collaboration in the working group: “The entire team did a great job.

Personally, I have never enjoyed the commitment as much as I did here.” In particular, the idea generator Alexandra Braunmiller and disability representative Elisabeth Neuhäusler pulled out all the stops.

That's why we're now hoping to get support from the population for the remaining amount.

As of now, the inclusion adventure playground is scheduled to be ready at the beginning of June.

Ensuring that this goal is achieved also depends on Pohl: He will act as construction and project manager.
