The district has decided on a social pass and the city of Freising is participating.

The offer that has been developed is a start, but other communities need to take part.

Freising

– The budget situation is actually not there at all.

Head of department Karl-Heinz Wimmer drew the committee's attention to this right at the beginning.

But as little as the city of Freising can financially afford additional voluntary expenditure, “in the end we came to the conclusion that we as the city of Freising still want to participate in it,” as Wimmer said.

Much to the delight of social officer Charlotte Reitsam (Greens).

“This makes us a city with a heart, that’s huge,” she said happily.

Because the hidden poverty is great, and the people who are really struggling financially “hardly dare to go out”.

The new social pass makes participation possible “without people having to go to petition with a huge folder.”

The social pass is a small ID card; everything is much more anonymous and subliminal.

Date for introduction “illusory”

Karl-Heinz Wimmer was critical of the district office's "sporty return deadline", as he said: "We consider March 1st as the introduction date to be risky." Social officer Charlotte Reitsam asked the larger communities in the district to get an idea of the mood. whether they are also on board.

And she had good news: “Hallbergmoos, Eching, Moosburg and Neufahrn are there,” she said.

Although Reitsam also considers the introduction date given by the district to be illusory.

Because the communities she asked “are not yet as far along as we are”.

This makes us a city with a heart.

This is gigantic.

The application in the district council comes from the Green parliamentary group.

Even before the district had made a decision on this, the Freising Left Party and the Agenda21 group “Table for Each Other” in the city of Freising applied for the introduction of the social pass - which is why the city of Freising, unlike other municipalities, did so well in the preparatory work Time is.

“Even though I would have liked more of our proposal to be implemented, but that is currently not possible due to the budget situation, I see it as a first step and thank you for your willingness to take part in it,” said one of the “ Original applicant”, Nicolas-Pano Graßy (Left).

The social pass

The aim of the social pass is to help

reduce social differences

and support the participation of people with low incomes in social life.

Holders of a social pass can be granted

discounted access

to municipal or other non-profit institutions as well as to clubs and private companies in the areas of

sports, leisure and entertainment, culture and education

- depending on who takes part in the municipalities.

According to the district's definition, the social pass should serve as a

simplified proof of need

.

In fact, the list of discounted offers is not very long - city tours, city museum, ice rink, events by the city's youth care and music school, fresh and designated cultural events.

But since all clubs can take part, Reitsam has already asked Dreiklang and the adult education center and they want to come on board with a 20 percent discount each, so it is as Wimmer said at the beginning: an initial offer that is constantly being expanded and can be modified.

More communities need to get involved

According to Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher, it is essential for the whole thing to work well that other and smaller municipalities take part - albeit on a smaller scale.

“I already have these expectations.”

In the end, the committee unanimously raised its hand for the social pass.
