Rotten and full of holes: The two buildings of the TC Kirchheim urgently need to be renovated.

The municipality is subsidizing the renovation of the buildings on the TC Kirchheim facility with 23,000 euros.

The construction work is urgently needed.

Kirchheim – The Kirchheim tennis club can finally have the two buildings on the facility on Florianstrasse completely renovated.

Already applied for in 2017, the local council has now approved the work, and the community is paying 70 percent of the costs.

These amount to a total of around 33,000 euros.

The TC Kirchheim is the tennis club in town with the largest number of members; the six clay courts and two in the hall are located on Florianstrasse, right next to the KSC sports grounds.

Currently over 300 members (including 120 children and young people) play privately or in one of the 20 teams with the second Kirchheim club TC 83 as “TEG Kirchheim”.

In addition, over 100 members take part in tennis training.

The community covers 70 percent of the costs

They actually wanted to merge with the TC 83 at Henschelring.

But this does not come about because the TC 83 general meeting rejected it.

Therefore, according to the board of TC Kirchheim, urgently necessary structural measures must now be implemented on the clubhouse and the medical supply store in order to preserve the wooden buildings.

So far, members have only ever carried out selective repair work.

However, the structural substance has remained unchanged since the club was founded over 50 years ago.

The number of members of TC Kirchheim has more than doubled in recent years to over 300. They are also active in youth work as part of the holiday program; in 2023, 150 children were looked after in the holiday courses.

According to the club, the many players are constantly increasing the wear and tear on the buildings and the defects are becoming more and more dangerous.

Measures must now be taken quickly so that the clubhouse and sanitary buildings can continue to be used safely.

The roof needs to be repaired, especially on the clubhouse, but also on the sanitary building.

Both buildings would have to be properly sanded, cleaned, impregnated and painted again.

According to an offer, the total costs are 33,100 euros;

According to the local council resolution, the municipality will cover 70 percent of this, i.e. 23,200 euros.

The club itself pays the remaining amount, 15 percent of which is paid immediately, the rest is added to the lease over 20 years.

The restructuring application was approved against the votes of two CSU local councilors.
