"Social justice is an unfair idea," repeats Javier MIlei.
For the president, it is intolerable that the State collects taxes, even if that money is used to
care for, feed and educate vulnerable girls and boys
.
The libertarian prefers that the economy and the people take care of themselves,
the cruel "every man for himself
. "
We know that the life of a child who is born in a country will be very different from that of another who is born in a town, although his rights - due to laws, norms and conventions assumed by our country - are exactly the same.
That is why the
State is obliged to intervene:
it must guarantee a dignified life for these children.
The same thing happens with each vulnerable group, because they have the same rights but are at a clear disadvantage compared to the dominant sectors.
Women have been warning about it for a century.
And the advances around gender equality have been notable
, so much so that anti-rights groups are at war against feminism.
"The socialists changed the agenda and replaced the class struggle with other supposed class conflicts such as
the ridiculous unnatural fight between men and women
. The agenda of radical feminism became greater intervention by the State," Milei said in her thunderous speech in Davos.
It's not a "fight", that idea is not feminist.
And what do you call "unnatural"?
Perhaps the femicides?
In Argentina there is a daily femicide, and women continue to be harassed, beaten and raped
.
The intervention that is requested of the State is to guarantee access to Justice, to support women victims to escape violence, education and public policies that promote equality.
Is
it "ridiculous" to ask for an end to subjugation
, the wage gap and that there be no more girls or women raped and murdered?
Gender inequality is a historical, cultural and global issue.
The most backward countries are the most unequal and violent towards women
, like Afghanistan.
Or nearby, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and El Salvador lead the femicide rates.
On the contrary, the most egalitarian and least violent countries are those with the greatest state intervention, such as the Nordic ones.
In Iceland there were 13 femicides in two decades, less than in Argentina so far in 2024.
Fighting feminism is not limited to maintaining certain gender privileges,
it is an economic issue.
