In winter, pop singer Hansi Hinterseer had to go to school on skis.
In the interview he now reveals how he occasionally used this to his advantage.
Kitzbühel - Hansi Hinterseer (69) is currently very busy: He released his new album "It's nice that you exist" on January 26th and on February 2nd - his 70th birthday - ServusTV will show a documentary about the pop musician's life, actor and ski racer.
A few days before his special day, the musician spoke to
Brisant
about his future, but also looked back on his past.
Unusual means of transport: What Hansi Hinterseer used to get to school
To this day, the singer is a welcome guest on German popular stages: at Christmas time, pop icon Hansi Hinterseer was on the music stage for the MDR show “Magic Christmas”.
For his upcoming birthday, the “Amore Mio” interpreter is heading back to nature – to the Seidlalm, a tavern in Kitzbühel, Austria, where he grew up as a child.
In the interview
The former ski world cup rider says that as a child he had to ski to school in the winter!
In some mornings it was so gloomy that Hansi Hinterseer told the teachers that it would be too dangerous to ski down the slopes to school in the dark.
Clever!
The teachers let Hansi Hinterseer get away with it
And the teachers?
“We played along and accepted everything,” says the 69-year-old with a laugh in the interview.
“That was often not bad because I knew that there was a German test or math test at half past seven,” says Hansi Hinterseer.
So it's a smart move to stay in bed longer and not have to show up at school.

Hansi Hinterseer shouldn't stay in nature for too long - he'll definitely be back on the music stage soon.
From June 16th, things will start again with “Always on Sundays” with Stefan Mross, where Hansi Hinterseer has always enjoyed performing in the past.
