ruled out
this Thursday the possibility of enabling a
special session
to discuss the
DNU
that deregulates the country's economy, as requested by the Kirchnerism bloc.
Instead, she said that the call will be made “with the agreement of all senators.”
“Kirchnerism has to understand that
there is a change of era
.
The Argentines chose a path.
And
the Senate agenda is no longer dictated by Kirchnerism
, but by the dialogue and participation of all senators,” Villarruel said in
a video
broadcast this Thursday on his social networks.
The response from the president of the upper house comes after last week
the Kirchnerist senators requested a special session
for this Thursday to discuss the DNU that Javier Milei signed in mid-December.
The entire bench brings together 33 legislators and they need 4 more to reach a quorum.
When it did not happen on the day, the Kirchnerist bloc held a press conference in which they criticized Javier Milei's vice president.
Villarruel maintained this Thursday that his decision to open consultations to all blocks of the chamber does not mean that he is “violating the Constitution, the current laws, nor
the regulations
of the honorable Senate of the Nation.”
“But issues such as the convocation of the DNU will be
decided with the agreement of all senators
,” he insisted.
Kirchnerism no longer manages the political agenda.

The vice president also considered it “fundamental” to address
all the DNUs
in force to date which, as she stressed, “were promoted by
a large part of Kirchnerism
.”
This afternoon, the K senators held a group presentation where they argued that the body's authorities are breaking the law by not calling the session.
The head of the bench,
José Mayans
, declared that his space "has a
constructive vision
" and that
"they do not want to oppose anything
," but they do intend "a discussion for the Argentine people and for officials to report to Parliament."
"We wanted to hold the necessary public hearings to give complete treatment to the DNU because it is so comprehensive that it repeals 79 laws and affects 300 laws in total, which gives it great magnitude.
We wanted to discuss title by title,
and explain to the Argentine people what it means. they wanted to do," he said.
For the senator from Formosa, "it is a DNU at odds with the Constitution."
"We ask the vice president that it is a guarantee of impartiality that when
there are five senators
requesting a special session,
she has to immediately call the session
and open the doors of the Senate," he emphasized.

Javier Milei received senators from La Libertad Avanza at Casa Rosada
This Thursday the President received the six senators from La Libertad Avanza together with Villarruel in the Golden Room of the Casa Rosada.
