The calculations by the American weather service GFS have a surprise in store: cold air masses and snow could move to Germany.
Meteorologist Dominik Jung explains whether Baden-Württemberg is also affected.
Stuttgart - The “temperature ecstasy” at the current time of year continues in Baden-Württemberg.
Thanks to the high pressure area “Frank”, we can continue to enjoy
numerous hours of sunshine and mild temperatures
over the next five days – almost too good to be true.
In fact, the weather models are now producing some
surprising forecasts
.
An already known phenomenon could threaten the spring-like values in Baden-Württemberg, reports qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung from wetter.net.

Forecasts indicate air mass limit: Will snow come to the countryside again?
“Air mass limit: This word has the potential to become the bad word of the winter of 2023/24,” says the meteorologist.
The weather phenomenon already kept the excitement about
winter weather
high in December.
According to the American GFS model, another
air mass limit
is imminent on Thursday (February 8th).
This is expected to bring
snow
in one part of Germany and
rain
in the other .
According to current forecasts, there will probably only be flakes in the north of the Federal Republic.
The weather in Baden-Württemberg, however, is expected to be rainy.
“But it’s just one of many calculations,” warns the weather expert.
There is still no sign of an onset of winter
in the ensemble forecasts for southern Germany until February 16th
.
The average temperature is constantly
at 5 to 7 degrees.
Germany is set to become Europe’s “swimming pool” in February
According to
wetter.net
, the Climate Forecast System (CFS) forecasts are going crazy in a different area.
“It seems as if we are becoming the swimming pool of all of Europe,” explains Dominik Jung, referring to the precipitation anomaly in the CFS model.
