Hartz and warm-hearted Janine gets a visitor from Berlin - Grandma Karin comes to Mannheim
The mother of two Janine gets a visit from the capital because her grandma Karin is coming to Mannheim.
In fact, Janine and her mom Beate also lived in Berlin until Janine was five years old and then moved to Mannheim.
Janine is particularly looking forward to her grandmother's visit because the two have a special connection with each other.
“I take after my grandmother,” she tells the camera crew.
There is a special reason to celebrate during the quick-witted senior citizen's stay: Karin is turning 83!
And on this day, Janine and her mother Karin want to make Karin happy and therefore organize a surprise party.
In the city center the two go looking for a suitable gift.
By the way: There is little reason to celebrate with Mannheimer Pascal.
Janine and Beate are looking for a birthday present – “nothing appeals to me here”
Unfortunately, initially without success.
“There's nothing that appeals to me here […] my grandma just says 'Thanks, but I don't like it,'” Janine explains the situation.
In the end, however, they find what they are looking for and buy Karin a card, a sleeping dress and a light blue vest.
On the day of her 83rd birthday, the twin mom prepares a little party for her grandma.
She also bought a cake and flowers and decorated the kitchen with birthday decorations.
Unfortunately, there isn't enough money for much more at the moment, as Janine explains: “In the middle of the month it's not always that bubbly [...] at least a little decoration, a little cake, then go for a walk later.
I hope she likes it.”

Because it's supposed to be a surprise party, the senior is with Beate and is distracted while Janine prepares everything at her house.
In the end, half the neighborhood is waiting in the kitchen for Karin to celebrate her 83rd birthday.
And the surprise succeeds, because the otherwise quick-witted Berliner is completely speechless at first.
She is also very happy about her gifts and thanks Janine very much.
