A TikToker is outraged in a video about loud conversations in the quiet compartment.
She receives a lot of support in the comments.
Many passengers want to spend their train journey in peace and be spared from the conversations of other fellow passengers.
For this purpose, Deutsche Bahn, for example, has special rest areas.
But even then, silence isn't always guaranteed.

“What is this rest compartment at the DB actually for?” asks a TikToker with the username “sandradangs” in a nine-second clip on the short video platform.
You can see her sitting on the train - apparently during a night journey - and trying to sleep.
“Non-verbal communication didn’t work.
We even dared to point out the compartment,” she continues.
But it would have turned out that being quiet meant that for the talkative fellow travelers, they simply spoke more quietly – and did so “non-stop”.
Not enough for the troubled TikToker.
The video was viewed around 24,000 times (as of February 2nd) within just a few days.
The comments show that the TikToker is not alone with her opinion.
Many users report similar annoyances and how little consideration other travelers show.
Here are some examples:
“Feeling it so much.”
“I’m always lucky to have an extended family in the compartment.”
“It would be best for them to make a reservation and then ignore the notice.”
“My blood always boils when something like this happens.
Shouldn’t conductors pay attention to things like that?”
“Terrible people like that, especially after you’ve already said something.
You should have told the conductor.”
“Nobody just takes it seriously.
Could go crazy every time.”

Does a quiet area really have to be quiet?
In some comments, TikTok users point out that a quiet area does not necessarily mean that speaking is not allowed.
Deutsche Bahn writes on its website: “In this area, cell phone calls, ringtones, listening to loud music (including via headphones) or other noisy activities are not permitted.”
Basically, this is a requirement of consideration, as a spokesman for the railway announced according to the German Press Agency (dpa): “The DB asks its customers not to disturb other passengers in the designated areas.” The train staff would Notify travelers of violations, but there are no concrete sanction options.
This means that passengers cannot have the costs of reserving a seat reimbursed if it is too loud for them in the compartment.
